Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Buyer, Operations to source and procure MRO materials, spare parts, and services supporting commissioning, maintenance, and plant operations. The role collaborates across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Finance to ensure availability and cost competitiveness.

Based in Utah with Milford or Salt Lake City options, it requires 5+ years in procurement within energy or industrial settings and strong ERP, Excel, and negotiation skills. A hybrid schedule is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in: supply chain, business, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain in energy/industrial environments.
• Experience procuring MRO materials, spare parts, industrial equipment, and field services.
• Experience managing requisitions, POs, expediting, supplier performance, and invoice discrepancies.
• Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems (SAP/Oracle) and strong Excel, KPI reporting, and analytics.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, communication, and problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure MRO materials, spare parts, consumables, equipment, repair services, and other operational needs.
• Review requisitions and technical requirements for completeness; coordinate with teams to confirm specs and alternatives.
• Manage complete PO lifecycle: quoting, evaluation, negotiation, issuance, expediting, receipt, and closeout in ERP.
• Monitor open orders, supplier commitments, and delivery dates; communicate delays and mitigation actions.
• Develop local/regional suppliers and preferred supplier arrangements to improve competition and reduce costs.
• Maintain pricing data and benchmark market conditions to identify savings and standardization opportunities.
• Review warranty coverage and coordinate repairs, credits, and recoveries.
