Job summary

Our client is seeking a Materials Control Specialist to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely purchasing, receipt, tracking, and documentation of materials needed to support ongoing business and project requirements.

The position is onsite with no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance, is a contract position for 8 months, and requires residency within a reasonable commuting distance.

  • Support procure-to-pay activities, including purchasing administration and invoice reconciliation.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Materials Control Specialist to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely purchasing, receipt, tracking, and documentation of materials needed to support ongoing business and project requirements.


This position is ideal for candidates with experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials coordination, or inventory management within industrial, manufacturing, construction, energy, utility, or similar environments.

Contract Duration: 8 months | W2


Please Note: Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of 15-45 minutes


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with supplier communications and issue resolution.

  • Support bidding activities and procurement processes as needed.

  • Maintain procurement records, reports, and supporting documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

  • Create and process purchase requisitions and receipts using an ERP system.

  • Perform additional supply chain and materials administration duties as assigned.

  • Monitor material orders and delivery schedules to ensure business needs are met.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, buyers, project teams, engineers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Support procure-to-pay activities, including purchasing administration and invoice resolution.


Qualifications (Must-Haves):


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Experience using Oracle or other ERP systems is preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.

  • Experience working within industrial, manufacturing, construction, utilities, energy, engineering, or similar environments preferred.

  • Approximately 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, materials management, inventory control, or related functions.

  • Procure-to-pay processes.

  • Materials planning and tracking.

  • Industrial materials purchasing.

  • Vendor and supplier coordination.

  • Purchase orders, requisitioning, receiving, and invoice reconciliation.

  • Experience with pipe, valves, fittings, or related industrial products is a plus.
