Norfolk State University is seeking a Procurement Manager/Team Lead in Norfolk, VA to foster a high-performing, accountable procurement team. You will provide ongoing feedback, mentor staff, and ensure EWPs and evaluations are completed on schedule.

The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. The position requires 1–3 years of supervisory experience, solid knowledge of state/federal procurement laws, and experience with e-procurement systems.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of state and contract law.
• Proficiency in technology and e-procurement systems.
• Experience with automated financial systems and procurement of tech.
• Familiarity with Virginia procurement regulations.

Responsabilités

• Provide employees with frequent feedback on performance and interim evaluations.
• Develop and mentor staff by identifying training needs and opportunities.
• Ensure EWPs and evaluations are completed accurately and on time.
• Address performance concerns promptly with proper documentation and corrective action plans.
• Conduct regular supervision and performance management in compliance with policies.
• Promote engagement, accountability, and excellence through leadership and communication.
• Foster a safe work environment and promote risk awareness across operations.
• Support safety and wellness initiatives to reduce injuries and lost work time.
• Create a culture of continuous improvement and customer service to meet goals.
