Job summary

Fermilab in Batavia, IL is seeking a Procurement Manager I to lead one or more procurement teams, guiding planning, solicitation, negotiation and closeout for routine to high‑value contracts. You will collaborate with project teams, DOE and internal customers to ensure compliance with procurement regulations and program requirements.

The requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business or related field, 7+ years of procurement experience, and professional certifications (CPM, CFCM or CPCM)

Qualifications

• Experience supporting procurement requirements of large scientific projects and Laboratory operations.
• Effective communication skills and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans and leads one or more procurement teams for subcontracting and procurement.
• Guides acquisition planning, solicitation, negotiation, award and subcontract closeout for routine to high‑value contracts.
• Collaborates with internal customers, project teams and DOE to ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.
• Supports audits, reviews and reporting; ensures alignment with prime contract and acquisition requirements.
• May provide people supervision or leadership of a team and perform related duties as assigned.
