Position Overview
The Procurement Manager leads all purchasing and material handling activities across the organization. This role is responsible for supplier management, procurement strategy, inventory control, and cross-functional coordination to support manufacturing operations.
This individual will drive process improvements, optimize cost and delivery performance, and ensure reliable material flow across domestic and international supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement and material management for all components, subassemblies, and services.
- Manage relationships with domestic and international suppliers and vendors.
- Partner with Engineering and Quality to qualify and approve suppliers.
- Support sourcing strategies for new product development.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery, and quality metrics.
- Conduct supplier visits and audits as needed.
- Review and approve purchase requisitions.
- Adjust procurement plans to align with changing production demands and customer schedules.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and improve total material cost performance.
- Develop and report KPIs related to purchasing, inventory, and supplier performance.
- Oversee kitting activities to meet production and customer delivery requirements.
- Manage forecasts, demand signals, and order fulfillment.
- Utilize MRP/ERP systems to generate requirements, forecasts, and purchase orders.
- Lead supplier contract negotiations and agreements.
- Manage freight carriers, logistics partners, and associated costs.
- Ensure data integrity within MRP systems (part numbers, BOMs, etc.).
- Collaborate with Production Planning to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6–10 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles, including leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience sourcing electronic components and managing overseas suppliers.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Deep experience with ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to manage complex supply chains across diverse product lines.
