Job summary

A leading supply chain management company based in Eufaula, Alabama is looking for someone to oversee the supply chain selection and development process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, materials acquisition, and inventory management. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including leadership in a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in ERP systems are essential.

Qualifications

Job description

You will oversee the supply chain selection and development process and will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, materials acquisition and inventory management functions. This includes major elements of strategic directives and tactical activities to support the business. Support the organization’s goals by directing and coordinating activities to obtain efficiency of operations and maximize profits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee new product supply chain development strategies and support.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain the supply chain including supplier selection, development, agreements, qualification, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop commodity strategies and identify gaps in the current or potential supplier base.
  • Plan finished goods and purchase raw materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Use ERP information to optimize purchases to support the business plan.
  • Manage inventory and purchases to control/balance cost, availability, and working capital metrics.
  • Monitor and report critical inventory control metrics; develop counter‑measures to meet the business plan, as required.
  • Coordinate daily with other departments to meet schedules and goals.
  • Manage maintenance, repair, and operations parts and equipment buying.
  • Apply market, supplier, industry, and technology knowledge to deliver annual cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Partner with R&D, engineers, project and product managers/staff to identify, analyze and perform financial analysis for cost savings opportunities.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
  • In partnership with Human Resources, perform HR responsibilities for staff: hiring, termination, promotions/pay adjustments, development, evaluations, resolution of concerns, disciplinary counseling.
  • Manage, control, and recommend budgets within approved guidelines.
Education & Experience Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or equivalent. Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment, which includes at least 5 years of leadership experience in strategic sourcing, supplier development and performance, inventory control/management, and purchasing functions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Expertise in the electronics or similar consumer products industry.
  • Expertise in sourcing of electronic and mechanical commodities.
  • Experience or demonstrated capability with material planning theory and practices.
  • Experience driving sourcing/materials management in a fast‑paced global environment.
  • Knowledge of supply management, production and inventory control methods and procedures.
  • Proven leadership skills focused on establishing a healthy culture and effective motivation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management and sourcing applications.
  • Experience with fully integrated scope ERP and/or MRP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight while adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and be onsite with outsourced vendors.
