Aston Carter is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations to ensure supply continuity and cost optimization. The role is based in Meriden, CT, with a hybrid work setup and occasional travel to supplier sites and events.

You will manage RFQ/RFP processes, monitor spend, and ensure compliance with laws and internal policies while driving cost-reduction initiatives. A manufacturing background is preferred and a 40-hour week is expected.

Job Title: Procurement ManagerJob Description

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of sourcing strategies to ensure supply continuity, optimize costs, and support business growth. The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving procurement best practices aligned with company objectives and compliance standards. This position is based on-site in Connecticut with occasional travel for supplier visits, industry events, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with supply chain objectives, business needs, and profitability targets.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers.
• Manage RFQ/RFP processes and facilitate supplier business reviews.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and partnerships.
• Collaborate with purchasing and supply planning teams to oversee purchasing and replenishment activities.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Analyze spend, bill of materials (BOM) costs, and commodity trends to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage procurement budgets and support cost-reduction initiatives.
• Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier developments.
• Prepare and present procurement metrics, analyses, and performance reports to leadership.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or related experience.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience utilizing ERP or procurement systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.

• Experience with metals or plastics manufacturing.
• Experience supporting cable, wire, or related industrial manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

The position offers the opportunity to join a manufacturing company that is financially robust with a flexible approach to procurement. The role allows for autonomy to manage the department as if it were your own business. Work hours are flexible as long as they total 40 hours per week, with the option to work remotely one day a week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
