Job summary

Professional Plastics is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, demand forecasting and stock balancing across assigned locations, utilizing Netstock to optimize inventory and reduce stockouts.

You will manage supplier relations, analyze data, and collaborate with sales and procurement to align inventory with business goals and product strategies, ensuring lowest landed cost while meeting quality and lead-time requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • APICS/CPIM Certification is preferred.
  • Netstock Inventory Management Concepts Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and select suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and quality.
  • Handle price negotiations and expediting when needed.
  • Set inventory policies and safety stock using Netstock analytics.
  • Use Netstock forecasting to create accurate demand forecasts for replenishment.
  • Collaborate with sales and procurement to align inventory levels with business goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving or efficiency initiatives.
  • Develop contingency plans for disruptions and monitor service levels.
  • Maintain lead times, vendor data, and MOQs in Syspro.
  • Act on Netstock PO recommendations and manage replenishment schedules.
  • Identify overstock and obsolescence and initiate liquidation strategies.
  • Monitor KPIs like Fill Rate, Stock Turns, Inventory Value, and Forecast Accuracy.

Job description

Position Summary

The Procurement Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing, demand forecasting and stock balancing duties for assigned locations. Using Netstock as the primary tool you will provide data-driven insights to optimize inventory, reduce stock outs and minimize excess stock. Your resume should include directly applicable experience or transferable skills.

In this position, you will determine what to buy through demand analysis and current inventory levels and how to buy it, through sourcing strategy and vendor management of the inbound flow of inventory. You will be accountable for choosing the lowest landed cost materials that meet quality, lead time, and quantity requirements to support being competitive in order to help branches be successful with their product strategies and profitably serve their customer base.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and select the best suppliers; negotiate pricing, terms, and quality for raw materials, BOM components, and services via OPC processes
  • Handle price negotiations when appropriate or when there is no other corporate contract in place; responsible for expediting when a supplier is late on their delivery commitment
  • Understand Netstock’s inventory classifications for stocked items using ABC analysis (based on value) and LMH analysis (based on velocity) to set appropriate inventory policies and safety stock levels for each SKU and warehouse combination
  • Leverage Netstock’s AI-driven forecasting tool to analyze historical sales, identify trends, and anticipate seasonal demand shifts, creating accurate demand forecasts to drive replenishment in the warehouses and Distribution Centers
  • Collaborate with sales and procurement teams to align inventory levels with business goals, new customer demand, and when introducing new products
  • Negotiate for better terms or cost, participate in and suggest initiatives to lower costs or improve efficiency, such as automation-related initiatives
  • Identify potential vendor, product, or market disruptions and develop and present appropriate contingency plans to be acted on to prevent shortages
  • Collaboratively define and monitor service level targets to maximize product availability while reducing excess inventory
  • Maintain database of lead times, primary vendors, MOQs in Syspro
  • Act on daily automated purchase order recommendations from Netstock, manage replenishment schedules and supplier lead times to minimize stock-outs and excess stock. Use Netstock’s "Top-Up" capability to fill out containers
  • Identify overstock, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory, initiate transfer or liquidation strategies to improve inventory turnover
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as Fill Rate, Stock Turns, Inventory Value, and Forecast Accuracy to report on team performance
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • 7+ Years of strategic buying/planning experience
  • Proficiency in Netstock
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365, Syspro, NetSuite, Acumatica
  • Ability to analyze datasets, spot trends and provide recommendations
  • Ability to anticipate disruptions and plan for future demand
  • Meticulous approach to review data, adjust safety stocks and manage SKU parameters
  • Strong aptitude for solving replenishment issues and optimizing complex supply chains
Education and Experience
