Job summary

Precision Power Solutions (PPS), a specialized division of EnerSys, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end purchasing for specialized suppliers, equipment, tools and raw materials supporting PPS operations and DOE grant projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3+ years in procurement or supply chain, with strong ERP/MRP experience and excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Operations, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or materials management.
• Experience managing POs, requisitions, supplier communications and orders.
• Experience sourcing components, materials, equipment, tools or other technical products.
• Strong supplier evaluation, negotiation, pricing, delivery, quality and performance management.
• Ability to review specs, drawings and statements of work for order accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end purchasing activities across suppliers, equipment, tools, parts and materials.
• Ensure timely procurement execution, supplier oversight and material availability.
• Align procurement activities with PPS operations, DOE grant requirements and cost targets.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Production and Project Management teams.
• Maintain documentation and records to support audit readiness and compliance.

Job Purpose

The Procurement Manager oversees end‑to‑end purchasing activities across specialized suppliers, equipment, tools, parts, and raw materials in support of PPS operations, production schedules, and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant award project requirements. This role ensures timely and accurate procurement execution, supplier oversight, and material availability while achieving cost, quality, and performance targets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Required Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or materials management.

• Experience managing purchase orders, requisitions, supplier communications, and order status.

• Experience sourcing and purchasing components, raw materials, equipment, tools, or other technical products.

• Strong understanding of supplier evaluation, negotiation, pricing, delivery, quality, and performance management.

• Ability to review technical specifications, drawings, statements of work, and other purchasing requirements to ensure order accuracy.

• Experience managing multiple suppliers and competing procurement priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, purchasing systems, or other procurement software.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Production, and Project Management teams.

Qualifications

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

• Experience supporting federally funded projects, DOE grants, government contracts, or other regulated programs.

• Experience in specialized manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, or other highly technical industries.

• Experience procuring engineering materials, specialized equipment, tools, components, or long-lead items.

• Familiarity with DOE procurement requirements, federal grant compliance, or government contracting requirements.

• Experience with supplier qualification, onboarding, performance evaluation, and risk management.

• Experience developing alternate sources and supporting strategic sourcing or make/buy analyses.

• Experience with cost reduction initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract alignment.

• Familiarity with inventory planning, production scheduling, MRP, and materials requirements.

• Experience with invoice reconciliation and procurement expenditure tracking.

• Experience supporting audit readiness and procurement documentation for government, customer, or compliance reviews.

• Knowledge of procurement metrics, supplier scorecards, and supply chain risk management.
