Job summary

MLC is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead enterprise-wide procurement efforts across St. Louis and Ste. Genevieve, MO. You will drive supplier performance, optimize costs, and align cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, engineering, and finance.

The role focuses on building strategic supplier relationships, managing the full PO lifecycle, and coaching procurement staff to advance best practices. A strong background in procurement, ERP systems, and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience with demonstrated performance management responsibilities.
  • Experience working with purchasing, inventory management, accounts payable, or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement activities across multiple company locations, ensuring effective execution of purchasing strategies and processes.
  • Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships that support cost, quality, delivery, and business continuity objectives.
  • Oversee the full purchase order lifecycle, including requisitions, sourcing, order placement, expediting, and closeout activities.
  • Manage, coach, and develop procurement team members while building organizational procurement capabilities and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, contracts, and company guidelines.
  • Support sourcing initiatives through supplier evaluations, bid processes, contract negotiations, and category management activities.
  • Partner with inventory management and operations teams to optimize inventory strategies, supplier performance, and total cost of ownership.
  • Drive continuous improvement through KPI management, process optimization, ERP system utilization, and cross-functional collaboration.

About The Job

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience developing department procedures, driving process improvements, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complex business relationships.
