Job summary

MLC, headquartered in St. Louis, Mo., is seeking a Maintenance Planner to support plant reliability by planning, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance activities to reduce downtime and improve equipment availability.

Responsibilities include coordinating work orders, ensuring preventive and predictive maintenance readiness, and collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing to enhance equipment reliability and inventory management.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of maintenance planning experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, equipment drawings, and maintenance-related information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and elevated work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate maintenance work orders, projects, and equipment repairs.
  • Ensure preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance activities are planned and ready for execution.
  • Manage work orders within the EAM/CMMS system, including review, prioritization, and status updates.
  • Monitor maintenance and business unit performance metrics and prepare reports as needed.
  • Support plant safety, environmental, and reliability initiatives.
  • Coordinate materials, spare parts, and vendor resources to ensure maintenance readiness.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing to improve equipment reliability and inventory management.
  • Lead daily maintenance planning meetings to align maintenance schedules with production needs.

About the Job

The Maintenance Planner supports plant reliability and maintenance performance by planning, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance activities that reduce downtime and improve equipment availability.

  • Experience with inventory management, spare parts planning, and bill of materials development.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and support training of others.
