Job summary

ForceBrands leads procurement initiatives for a plant-level food manufacturing operation in Monrovia, CA, sourcing ingredients, packaging, and other materials to support production. You will translate usage, forecasts, and inventory data into replenishment plans, negotiate with suppliers, and drive vendor scorecards to ensure service, quality, cost, and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in food manufacturing procurement, strong Excel and ERP/MRP experience, and familiarity with USDA

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement or supply chain experience within a plant-level food manufacturing environment.
• Strong forecasting and analytical skills; advanced Excel capability; experience with ERP or MRP systems.
• USDA-regulated food production knowledge; direct protein purchasing experience preferred but learnable.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day procurement across ingredients, packaging, and other materials required for production.
• Translate production needs, usage history, and forecasts into replenishment plans across thousands of SKUs.
• Lead forecasting and inventory planning using ERP data and Excel; improve forecasting tools and reporting.
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing, lead times, and performance with senior leadership input.
• Create vendor scorecards and tracking tools supporting service, quality, cost, and compliance.
• Collaborate with Production, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Inventory teams to resolve shortages and keep production running smoothly.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and participate in warehouse cycle counts to align system and physical counts.
• Assess procurement workflows and implement sustainable processes, documentation, and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day procurement across protein, non-protein ingredients, packaging, and other materials required to support production.
• Translate production needs, historical usage, inventory levels, and business forecasts into clear purchasing and replenishment plans across a portfolio of thousands of SKUs.
• Lead forecasting and inventory planning using data extracted from the company ERP into Excel; improve the current forecasting tools, logic, and reporting process.
• Manage supplier relationships, commitments, pricing, lead times, availability, and performance while partnering with the COO on major supplier-selection and purchasing decisions.
• Create practical vendor scorecards and tracking tools that support service, quality, cost, and SQF compliance requirements.
• Partner closely with Production, Operations, Quality, Warehouse, Finance, and Inventory teams to identify risks, resolve shortages, and keep production running smoothly.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and participate in warehouse cycle counts, including hands‑on follow‑up when system and physical counts do not align.
• Assess existing procurement workflows and implement sustainable processes, documentation, and controls that improve visibility, accuracy, and execution.

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, materials planning, or supply chain experience within a plant-level food manufacturing environment.
• Strong forecasting, inventory planning, and analytical skills, including advanced Excel capability and experience working with ERP or MRP systems; Canopy experience is helpful but not required.
• Working knowledge of USDA-regulated food production and supplier or material requirements; direct protein purchasing experience is preferred but can be learned.
