Job description

Baby2Baby is a non-profit organization that provides children in need with diapers, formula, clothing, and the basic necessities that every child deserves, serving more than one million children across all 50 states. The organization has distributed over half a billion items in the past 15 years to children in homeless shelters, domestic violence programs, foster care, hospitals and school districts as well as children who have lost everything in the wake of disaster. The organization’s success has been propelled forward by its industry-leading model that is redefining what it means to operate a non-profit with a seamless integration of impact, innovation, and influence, which earned them praise from TIME Magazine as one of 2023’s most influential companies and recognition as the #1 non-profit on Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies List.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Operation, the Procurement Manager will be a key contributor in strengthening and optimizing Baby2Baby’s procurement processes to support the organization’s rapid growth and expanding partnerships. This role will help implement formalized procedures and SOPs that ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all stages of purchasing — from sourcing and vendor negotiation to tracking, delivery, and reporting.

The Procurement Manager will centralize procurement oversight, streamline communication, and help reduce costly delays, all while strengthening vendor relationships and identifying cost-saving opportunities. By implementing efficient procurement practices, this role will improve forecasting and budgeting, creating the operational foundation needed for long‑term sustainability and scalable growth.

The Procurement Manager will work Monday–Friday. The work is performed in an office setting and is currently in office or on site 3–5 days per week. The primary office location is 5830 W. Jefferson Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90016, with potential on‑site responsibilities at Baby2Baby’s warehouse located at 16333 Raymer Street, Van Nuys, CA 91406 as well as the future headquarters in Santa Monica, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supports the creation and implementation of formalized procurement procedures and SOPs to ensure efficiency, compliance, and scalability across the organization.

  • Partners closely with all departments — including Program & Disaster Relief, Corporate Partnerships, Volunteer & Community, Events, Warehouse, and Finance — to anticipate needs, align timelines, and provide a high‑level view of organizational purchasing priorities.
  • Collaborates with the warehouse team to ensure procurement timelines align with storage capacity, distribution schedules, and inventory management protocols.
  • Helps guide the organization in utilizing emerging technologies, including AI‑driven tools, to improve procurement efficiency, forecasting, and decision‑making.

  • Monitors procurement budgets and spending, providing accurate forecasting and actionable insights to support leadership decisions.
  • Maintains accurate and comprehensive procurement data to enable reporting on purchasing trends, vendor performance, and organizational efficiencies.
  • Onsite involvement at Baby2Baby events and distributions across Los Angeles, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a high‑volume or multi‑department environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and negotiate with vendors, including experience managing overseas suppliers and navigating tariffs and import/export regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast needs, monitor budgets, and manage procurement data.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and present information clearly to leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Strong commitment to Baby2Baby’s mission and values.
