Share Food Program in the Greater Philadelphia region seeks a Procurement Manager to support daily logistics, partner engagement, and administrative functions of its food rescue and distribution programs.

The role requires highly organized, proactive leadership to manage priorities and communicate with internal teams, nonprofit partners, and community stakeholders. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operation of Share Food Rescue app and back-up for PTO periods.
• Maintain positive relationships with donors, partner sites, and volunteers.
• Coordinate with community groups to leverage Share Food Rescue initiatives.
• Attend community meetings and events as a representative for Share Food Rescue and Share.
• Oversee reporting and data management for the Rescue program, including fleet and partner data.
• Foster cross-department collaboration between OPS, Programs, Development/Marketing on Rescue projects/processes.
• Manage bulk donation offers and food drives in coordination with OPS.
• Cross-train new procurement staff and supervise their onboarding.
• Oversee composting logistics as needed and respond to inquiries via email/phone.

Share Food Program (“Share”) is the leading hunger relief organization in the Greater Philadelphia region and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation. Share feeds hundreds of thousands of individuals each month—more than half of whom are children and seniors. The ripple effects of the pandemic, record rates of inflation, and critical cuts to government assistance benefits have plunged even more people into hunger and poverty. Philadelphia has the highest rate of poverty of any major city in the U.S., and food insecurity is a public health crisis. Our network of caring volunteers, dedicated professionals, and generous donors works to bring nourishing food to our neighbors in need.

Since 2022, the need for Share’s services has increased by 120% and the need will only increase with the passage of recent legislation. Share is committed to being at the forefront of advocacy fighting against these policies and ensuring everyone has access to food. Funding for advocacy and expanding its major donor program are strategic goals for Share. Furthermore, Share has successfully completed two stages of its capital campaign to expand and revolutionize its Philadelphia warehouse headquarters at the heart of Share’s operations, to help more neighbors in need.

Position Overview

The Procurement Manager plays a key role in supporting the daily logistics, partner engagement, and administrative functions of our food rescue and distribution programs. This position requires a highly organized, proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with internal teams, nonprofit partners, and community stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage staff assigned to the daily operation of the Share Food Rescue app, backup to run app if staff assigned are on PTO
• Responsible for managing and maintaining positive relationships with donors, partner sites, and volunteers
• Responsible with coordinating with other community groups in regards to projects/opportunities to leverage SHARE FOOD RESCUE within those groups
• Responsible for attending community meetings and events as a representative for SHARE FOOD RESCUE and Share
• Responsible for all reporting and data management of the SHARE FOOD RESCUE Program, including maintaining accurate records of fleet donation data and nonprofit partner data.
• Manage cross-departmental collaboration between OPS, Programs, Development/Marketing on SHARE FOOD RESCUE projects/processes
• Manage initial bulk donation offers and food drives, coordinating with OPS
• Responsible for cross-training of any new procurement staff
• Communicate and manage composting logistics as needed.
• Respond to general inquiry emails and phone calls, triaging and forwarding/coordinating with appropriate departments
• Coordinate ServSafe certification and compliance, as defined by Share leadership.
• Conduct site visits and field delivery requests from partners as assigned.
• Support procurement/bulk delivery activities as needed.

Required Experience and Abilities

• 5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, operations, food distribution, nonprofit programs, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating logistics, projects, staff, volunteers, or external partners.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience with data entry, reporting, recordkeeping, and maintaining accurate program information.
• Proficiency with technology, databases, and mobile/web-based applications; ability to learn and troubleshoot program systems.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires sitting up to 75% of the time
• Position requires keyboard use or repetitive hand motion
• Position requires lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds at times

Environmental Risks

Position includes potential exposure to loud noises and warehouse environments up to 75% of the time.

LOCATION

This position will be primarily based at the Share Food Program MontCo Warehouse, located at 1111 North Broad Street, Lansdale, PA 19446.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
