Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a Procurement Specialist in Jefferson City to lead the procurement unit and oversee the full lifecycle of contracts for services, products, and IT solutions. The role requires strong vendor relationships, supervision, and adherence to state regulations.

Responsibilities include drafting solicitations, evaluating bids, and coordinating with legal counsel and program staff. This professional position emphasizes ownership of complex contracts and mentoring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Experience in public procurement is strongly preferred.
Experience with databases and procurement systems such as SAMII, MissouriBUYS, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop procurement staff.
Oversee the contract life cycle from research to final award.
Determine procurement paths for diverse needs.
Develop contracts and collaborate with legal and program staff.
Oversee bids and evaluations to ensure fair, open, and compliant processes.
Liaise with Office of Administration and internal DSS administration on contracts and fiscal matters.
Establish and administer contracts per state regulations and maintain records.
Other duties as assigned.
