Job summary

Bidell Gas Compression is seeking a Purchasing Lead to supervise a team of Buyers and Purchasers within our Procurement Department. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the role focuses on coordinating priorities, ensuring on-time, on-budget procurement, and acting as the liaison between suppliers and internal teams.

You will develop and coach the team, improve purchasing processes, and support production schedules across the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Trade certification or SCM education asset.
• 5+ years purchasing or supply chain experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP/purchasing systems.
• Experience in manufacturing or oil & gas environments preferred.
• Experience leading procurement teams.
• Strong communication and vendor management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to policies and continuous improvement.
• Ability to communicate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Buyers and Purchasers to meet schedule and budget.
• Balance workloads, set priorities, and provide coverage for production needs.
• Coordinate with suppliers on status, lead times, pricing, and delivery.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Fabrication, Parts & Service, and Management.
• Resolve PO, invoice, and delivery discrepancies quickly.
• Build strong supplier relationships through negotiation.
• Support purchasing systems, processes, controls, and inventory.
