Job summary

D&H Distributing in Harrisburg, PA is seeking a Procurement Specialist to own a group of suppliers and contribute to cross-functional growth. You will be central to a team focused on expanding the division while ensuring supply and cost efficiency.

You will manage inventory, negotiate pricing, and streamline buy-to-pay processes while partnering with sales, marketing and operations to meet demand and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent purchasing experience.
• IT distribution experience required.
• 5+ years of relevant and technical experience in procurement or related field.

Responsibilities

• Purchase all incoming merchandise.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels in all warehouse locations.
• Maintain stable supply and prevent stockouts by coordinating with sales and expediting deliveries.
• Issue stocking and special purchase orders and ensure correctness for all branches.
• Negotiate better pricing, freight terms and return material terms.
• Manage supplier price, delivery and quality expectations and escalate as needed.
• Oversee buy-to-pay process and assist accounts payable with invoices and payment terms.
• Analyze sales results on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Interact with suppliers regarding assortment and promotions.
• Help manage inventory by stock balances, transfers, and ordering.
• Coordinate with inside/outside sales via phone and email.
• Communicate with vendors via phone or email.
• Work with warehouses and vendors on shipping issues and overages.
• Collaborate with marketing on monthly flyers with product feedback and pricing.
• Delegate price changes and other activities to Purchasing Operations Team.
• Correspond with departments and vendor partners as needed by phone/email.
