Job summary

Walsworth in Ripon, WI is seeking a Buyer II to collaborate with internal departments and align needs with products and vendors. This on-site role runs 8 am - 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, and requires accurate PO entry and vendor communication.

You will analyze RFQs, maintain inventory accuracy, manage reorder points, support sample inventory, and mentor junior buyers. A strong team player with solid communication and multitasking skills will thrive in this fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of purchasing or related experience required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and strong judgment.

Responsibilities

• Verify purchase orders and communicate requirements to vendors.
• Subject matter expert in assigned buying category.
• Administer PO and SKU numbers.
• Understand inventory accounting practices related to PO and inventory.
• Verify monthly consignment counts and submit consignment POs.
• Support sample inventory, sample requests, alternative options, etc.
• Assist in preparation, review and analysis of RFQ.
• Participate in cycle counts and year-end physical inventory counts.
• Research new products and services.
• Provide variance cost to estimating.
• Manage inventory turns and reorder points to avoid excess inventory.
• Verify and authorize payments within buying limits or with management authorization.
• Monitor reorder points and order supplies and materials to support manufacturing.
• Manage cost and pricing documentation.
• Submit, track and report claims for defective products and related costs.
• Provide planning information by collecting and summarizing data and trends.
• Cross-train with buyers for coverage.
• Train and mentor other Buyers and new personnel.
