Job summary

SAMACO, a division of Samuel, Son & Co., is hiring in Houston, TX for a Procurement/Inventory Specialist. You will align with the Regional Procurement Manager to execute procurement strategies for carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, and lead demand planning at the branch level for standard and contracted items.

You will coordinate with the sales group on pricing, lead-time, and inventory targets, while driving inventory efficiency and ensuring adherence to enterprise procurement

Qualifications

• Data-driven with strong analytical skills.
• Understanding of forecasting and replenishment concepts.
• Proven ability to influence change and implement modern procurement concepts.
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Align with Regional Procurement Manager to execute procurement strategies for steel and aluminum products.
• Lead demand planning at branch level for standard items and contracted business.
• Coordinate with sales on pricing, lead-time, and inventory levels.
• Ensure inventory performance and drive branch-level improvements.
• Provide procurement guidance to the Sales team and maintain open purchase orders.
