Job summary

American Iron and Metal is seeking a Procurement Specialist to oversee end-to-end procurement, inventory control, and supplier management for an industrial operation in Colton, CA. You will ensure material availability, manage POs, and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include RFQs, supplier evaluations, and maintaining accurate inventory in Maximo while driving cost savings and process improvements.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in inventory, purchasing, or materials management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience managing inventory counts, reorder points, and purchase orders across a high-volume parts environment.
• Working knowledge of inventory systems (Maximo preferred) and Excel.
• You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities independently.
• You are proactive, self-motivated, and communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement for parts, equipment, maintenance supplies, services, and materials.
• Coordinate with Corporate Procurement to leverage AIM-wide contracts and pricing.
• Initiate RFQs based on needs and inventory replenishment.
• Ensure competitive sourcing and evaluate supplier quotations on cost, quality, lead time, and terms.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders; track deliveries to minimize downtime.
• Maintain stock transfers, tagging, and receiving activities.
• Develop supplier relationships and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor inventory levels and perform cycle counts and audits.
• Update Maximo to reflect transactions and investigate discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Asset Management for accurate parts data and continuity.
