Job summary

RFCUNY’s Research Foundation of The City University of New York is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the procurement lifecycle, analyze data, and prepare reports for sponsored programs.

The role requires advanced financial reporting skills, knowledge of procurement and accounting principles, and the ability to handle confidential data while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of procurement and general accounting principles.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (Workday or Jaggaer preferred).
• Coding and advanced data analysis capabilities; AI applications a plus.
• Supplier relationship and contract management experience preferred.
• Excel skills at an expert level (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); Power BI preferred.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical, quantitative and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze procurement and accounts payable data and develop reports.
• Perform trend analysis and forecasting; support year-end closing and audits.
• Identify duplicate payments, pricing inconsistencies, and opportunities for savings.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with RFCUNY procurement policies and sponsor requirements.
• Assist with supplier setup, onboarding, and procurement projects.
• Provide data-driven support for RFPs/RFBs and large procurements.
