Job summary

Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks a Financial Analyst to support procurement lifecycle and accounts payable processes. The role develops and analyzes procurement data, creates reports, and communicates with stakeholders.

Reports to the Manager of Procurement and Accounts Payable, with emphasis on integrity and policy compliance. The department handles ~75,000 transactions annually totaling about $200M in non-payroll activities, and you may supervise temporary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial reporting and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and general accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems such as Workday or Jaggaer.
  • Supplier relationship management and contract management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze procurement and accounts payable data.
  • Develop and execute complex regular and ad-hoc financial reports containing confidential data.
  • Analyze financial transactions, workflows, and identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform trend analysis and forecasting.
  • Perform detailed spend analytics by supplier, category, department, grant or funding source.
  • Identify duplicate payments, duplicate suppliers, and pricing inconsistencies through analytical reviews.
  • Utilize RFCUNY’s systems (including Excel) to generate reports and metrics.
  • Assist with year-end closing and reporting activities and audits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
