PopVax is an Indian biotechnology company based in Hyderabad, with a primarily remote US subsidiary nominally based in New York. We are funded via research agreements with the Gates Foundation and Vitalik Buterin’s biosecurity company Balvi. For the past year, we have been building a novel second-generation mRNA platform for low-costbroadly-protectivevaccines via computationally-driven antigen design, starting with anopen-source booster vaccine candidatethat is intended to protect against the entiresarbecovirusspecies and, if things go well, thebetacoronavirusgenus,including current and future strains of SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19.
We’re looking for a procurement executive to join our procurement team, reporting to the Senior Manager - Procurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Purchase of materials for R&D, including liaison with R&D personnel to understand the requirements, identify vendors, negotiate rates, place orders and monitor deliveries
Customs clearance of imported materials including documentation and liaison with the CHA
Coordinate with PopVax Operations department to source and purchase machinery and specialized equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
2-3 years of experience highly preferred in sourcing a wide range of pharmaceutical materials, including biological materials like enzymes and other reagents, as well as instruments and specialized equipment (with a particular emphasis on GMP-grade materials)
Experience dealing with small and large local and multinational vendors with proven negotiation skills and commercial acumen
Well versed with customs clearance procedures for imports
Familiarity with logistics of materials supply, especially international freight forwarding of temperature sensitive materials
Knowledge of ERP systems like SAP for purchase activities is a plus
Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to work with multifunctional teams
