XNRGY Climate Systems, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Engineer with a strong foundation in industrial engineering and supplier management.
You will analyze drawings, BOMs, and specs to evaluate supplier proposals, and drive cost modeling, VA/VE, and TCO analyses to inform sourcing decisions. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure supplier readiness, support NPI and ramp-up, and manage qualification activities including APQP-style processes.

industrial engineering principles to support the evaluation, sourcing, and
qualification of materials, components, tooling, and suppliers used in advanced
manufacturing operations. Specific duties include: Analyze engineering drawings,
technical specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to evaluate supplier
proposals and ensure compliance with design and performance requirements;
Evaluate supplier technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, production
capacity, and quality systems for engineered components and assemblies;
Perform cost modeling, should-cost analysis, value analysis/value engineering
(VA/VE), and total cost of ownership evaluations to support sourcing and
procurement decisions; Conduct technical sourcing activities for fabricated parts,
mechanical components, electric and electrical components, thermal
components, and industrial assemblies; Collaborate with engineering,
manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to support product
development, manufacturability, and production readiness; Support new product
introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up activities to ensure supplier readiness
and alignment with manufacturing timelines; Support supplier qualification,
technical assessments, and supplier corrective action initiatives, including
structured product quality and development processes such as Advanced Product
Quality Planning (APQP) or similar methodologies; Analyze supply market
conditions, sourcing risks, lead times, and capacity constraints affecting
manufacturing programs; Develop data-driven sourcing analyses, cost
evaluations, and technical recommendations to support procurement strategies;
and Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement
engineering, supplier performance, and cost optimization. Required travel: Up to
20% domestic and international travel required to visit suppliers, including travel
to locations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and to attend work-related
meetings or conferences.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a
closely related engineering field; and at least five (5) years of progressive
experience in the job offered or in a procurement engineering, supplier sourcing,
supply chain, or manufacturing engineering role within a manufacturing
environment. The required experience must include conducting RFQ/RFP
processes, supplier sourcing, and participating in supplier negotiations for
engineered components or manufactured products; analyzing cost structures,
including total cost of ownership (TCO), should-cost modeling, value
analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), or similar cost analysis methodologies;
working with manufacturing components and suppliers, including interpretation of
engineering drawings, technical specifications, and/or bills of materials (BOMs);
applying engineering principles to assess supplier manufacturing processes,
technical capabilities, and production readiness; collaborating with crossfunctional teams including engineering, manufacturing and quality to support
sourcing and supplier selection decisions; supporting new product introduction
(NPI) or production ramp-up activities; supporting supplier qualification, technical
assessments, or supplier corrective action initiatives, including structured quality
or product development processes (such as APQP or similar); and utilizing ERP
systems and data analysis tools to manage procurement, supplier, cost, or supply
chain data.
