Base pay range
$70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr
Purpose:
The Procurement Director is responsible for managing all procurement activities within the food manufacturing sector, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, and BRC regulations. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing ingredients, packaging, and other materials essential for food production. The Procurement Director will collaborate closely with suppliers, Quality Assurance, Production, Innovation, and Regulatory teams to ensure procurement processes adhere to standards and support efficient, cost-effective operations.

Certifications

Education and Experience

- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Familiarity with food manufacturing regulations and compliance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, temperature variations, and standing for extended periods.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring multiple sources for each raw material.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing.
- Develop and implement a Strategic Procurement Plan aligned with company forecasts.
Procurement Operations
- Manage procurement processes and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with production to ensure timely material acquisition.
- Track and report procurement metrics, recommending process improvements.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure materials meet regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with QA on material quality and safety.
- Maintain documentation for regulatory compliance.
Cost Management and Optimization
- Analyze market trends for cost savings.
- Implement cost reduction strategies.
- Prepare and review cost analysis reports.
KPI Responsibilities
- Define, monitor, and report on procurement KPIs.
- Evaluate supplier performance.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with production, innovation, QA, and logistics teams.
- Support new product development with sourcing.
