Job description

The Loan Advisor, Senior is a customer-focused inside sales position within the Call Center. The role involves managing both in-bound and out-bound calls through marketing campaigns, conducting initial pre-qualification phone screens, and preparing loan applications and documentation. The position requires providing high-quality service to internal and external customers by selecting the best options, taking ownership to resolve problems, and meeting customer needs. The Loan Advisor, Senior must work in a licensed branch location as assigned in the NMLS and immediately notify supervisors and the Licensing Department of any residential address changes.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
  1. Analyze applicant information to determine the likelihood of qualification for the desired loan program.
  2. Assist customers in choosing the proper program that fits their needs and initiate the loan application.
  3. Provide guidance on the risks and benefits of different programs, explain terms, and ensure all documents and disclosures are signed and returned promptly.
  4. Build relationships with internal and external customers.
  5. Respond to customer needs and expectations promptly.
  6. Exhibit professionalism and pride in work when dealing with customers.
  7. Utilize training materials, reference tools, and resources to provide accurate and up-to-date information on loan programs and policies.
  8. Ensure an exceptional customer experience by overseeing the loan process from origination to close and maintaining ongoing communication with customers and business partners.
  9. Complete all required Mortgage Loan Originator Training activities successfully.
  10. Work in a licensed branch location, maintain regular attendance, and comply with company policies and procedures.
  11. Understand and comply with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  12. Adhere to shift requirements.
  13. Seek development opportunities to advance to the next level (Executive Loan Advisor).
  14. Maintain excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  15. Meet or exceed sales KPIs related to productivity and quality assurance.
  16. Be a goal-oriented self-starter focused on providing high-level customer service.
  17. Possess strong negotiation and time management skills, with the ability to learn loan origination and automated underwriting systems.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

High School Graduate / GED, Bachelor’s Degree preferred

3+ years of mortgage sales experience as a Loan Officer in a direct-to-consumer setting

Proven track record of exceptional performance

Extensive knowledge of mortgage products and experience selling a broad range of mortgage types (Purchase, Conventional, Government)

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

Must have NMLS and SAFE

At least 5 active state licenses or prior work as a mortgage loan originator in a banking call center

UST preferred

Ability to work Monday-Friday 12pm-9pm EST, with one Saturday every 3 weeks

Self-starter, goal-oriented sales professional focused on high-level customer service.

Computer skills with the ability to learn loan origination and automated underwriting systems.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Frequent sitting and talking or hearing; occasional standing, walking, handling, reaching; ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Moderate noise level environment.
