Mesquite Modules is seeking a detail-oriented Specialist II, Procurement to join our team. This role focuses on optimizing procurement processes, securing high-quality materials, and delivering cost efficiencies.

You will collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support operations and drive improvements. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–3 years of procurement experience, with strong negotiation, analytics, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers; develop strong supplier relationships.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement process including purchase orders and tracking.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings.
  • Ensure procured materials meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate with inventory and supply chain teams to align procurement with production.
  • Maintain records of procurement activities for auditing and reporting.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Specialist II, Procurement to join our procurement team. This role is essential for managing and optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices. The Specialist II, Procurement will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support operational needs and drive cost efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet company requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational goals. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and procurement data to drive decision‑making and improve sourcing strategies.
  • Purchase Orders: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including the preparation and issuance of purchase orders, tracking order status, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Cost Management: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions. Conduct cost analyses and implement cost control measures to optimize procurement expenditures.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that procured materials and services meet quality standards and specifications. Address and resolve any quality issues or discrepancies with suppliers promptly.
  • Inventory Coordination: Collaborate with inventory and supply chain teams to align procurement activities with inventory needs and production schedules. Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and manage supplier lead times.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement regulations, and industry standards. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in procurement practices.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPP, CPSM) are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1‑3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a strong understanding of sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate supplier performance and make data‑driven decisions.
  • Proficiency: In procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing procurement processes and documentation.
  • Problem‑Solving: Proven problem‑solving abilities, with the capability to address and resolve procurement‑related issues efficiently.
