Job summary

MeterEnergy is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage end-to-end procurement processes in Oregon. You will issue and track POs, monitor inventory, and coordinate with engineering, production, and R&D to meet delivery dates.

The role requires 2+ years in purchasing, ERP/MRP experience, and strong Excel and communication skills. You will build supplier relationships, analyze quotations, and drive cost saving initiatives while ensuring procurement records are accurate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, Business or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years in purchasing/procurement or related supply chain role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills.
• Analytical, organized, detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Supplier quotation analysis and negotiation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders according to company policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing to support production, R&D, and other needs.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders on requirements, priorities, and delivery dates.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, capability, reliability, and lead times.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations; support price and term negotiations.
• Maintain supplier relationships and follow up on open orders and delivery schedules.
• Maintain purchasing records, pricing history, and related procurement documentation.
• Support forecasting and material planning to minimize shortages and excess inventory.
• Coordinate incoming material and logistics with suppliers and internal teams.
• Procure facility supplies, consumables, equipment, and R&D materials and allocate to departments.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Assist with supplier performance monitoring and issue resolution.
• Perform other procurement and supply-chain duties as assigned.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to support production, engineering, R&D, and general business requirements.
• Work with internal stakeholders to understand purchasing requirements, priorities, specifications, and required delivery dates.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, capability, reliability, lead time, and prior performance.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations and support price and commercial term negotiations.
• Maintain supplier relationships and follow up on open orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and other supply issues.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing history, supplier information, and related procurement documentation.
• Support inventory forecasting and material planning to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing shortages and excess inventory.
• Coordinate incoming material and logistics activities with suppliers, warehouse personnel, and other internal teams.
• Purchase facility supplies, consumables, equipment, and R&D materials and ensure purchases are allocated to the appropriate department or budget.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, lead-time reduction, supplier consolidation, and procurement process improvement.
• Assist with supplier performance monitoring and resolution of delivery, pricing, documentation, or quality-related issues.
• Perform other procurement and supply-chain-related duties as assigned.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Operations, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Min. 2 years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop productive working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
