Job summary

ecruit in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Procurement Coordinator to support electrical infrastructure projects across the United States. This hands-on role requires managing purchasing activities from request to delivery, with primary work in the NYC office and periodic travel to Newburgh, NY.

You will negotiate pricing, lead times, and supplier relationships with electrical manufacturers and distributors, coordinate deliveries to sites and warehouses, and work with Project Managers,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in electrical distribution, construction, energy infrastructure, manufacturing, or related technical industries
• Strong understanding of electrical products, equipment, and supply chain processes
• Experience purchasing electrical materials, equipment, components, or engineered products
• Established relationships with electrical manufacturers, distributors, and supplier networks
• Proven ability to manage purchase orders, vendor relationships, pricing negotiations, and delivery schedules
• Ability to interpret bills of materials, equipment lists, project specifications, and technical documentation
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Excel and purchasing/ERP or project management systems

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for multiple active commercial and industrial projects
• Purchase electrical equipment, materials, and components from manufacturers, distributors, and approved suppliers
• Prepare, issue, track, and manage purchase orders from request through delivery
• Source products based on project specifications, BOMs, equipment schedules, and technical requirements
• Negotiate pricing, availability, freight terms, lead times, and delivery schedules
• Develop and maintain relationships with electrical manufacturers, distributors, and supplier partners
• Monitor market conditions, product availability, and supply chain risks
• Coordinate deliveries to project sites, warehouses, and customer locations
• Resolve shortages, delays, damaged shipments, substitutions, and supplier issues
• Work with Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, Warehouse, and Finance to support project execution
• Maintain purchasing records, vendor information, pricing history, and documentation
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and supplier optimization
• Preferred experience in electrical distribution or contractor procurement
• Experience with switchgear, transformers, panels, EV charging equipment and related products

New York, NY | Primarily In-Office, with Periodic Travel to Newburgh, NY

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Coordinator to support the successful delivery of commercial, industrial, energy infrastructure, EV charging, and building electrification projects throughout the United States.

This is a hands-on procurement role for someone who understands the electrical supply chain and can independently manage purchasing activities from initial request through final delivery.

This position is primarily based in our NYC office, with periodic travel to our warehouse in Newburgh, NY. Responsibilities at the Newburgh location will include meeting deliveries, managing inventory, and supporting warehouse-related procurement activities. Candidates must be able to travel to the Newburgh location as needed, either by personal vehicle or public transportation. Approved transportation expenses will be reimbursed by the company.

The ideal candidate will bring experience working with electrical manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers, along with the ability to negotiate pricing, manage lead times, resolve supply challenges, and ensure materials arrive when projects need them.

Key Responsibilities

Required Experience & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

• 4+ years of procurement or purchasing experience within electrical distribution, electrical construction, industrial supply, energy infrastructure, manufacturing, or a related technical industry
• Strong understanding of electrical products, equipment, and supply chain processes
• Experience purchasing electrical materials, equipment, components, or engineered products
• Established relationships or familiarity with electrical manufacturers, distributors, and supplier networks
• Proven ability to manage purchase orders, vendor relationships, pricing negotiations, and delivery schedules
• Ability to interpret bills of materials, equipment lists, project specifications, and technical documentation
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
