Job summary

Primoris Power Solutions is hiring a Sr High Voltage EPC Buyer to lead procurement for HV equipment used in substations and transmission lines. You will coordinate with Procurement and Project Managers, ensuring policy adherence and timely deliveries.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in HV EPC purchasing, strong MS Excel/Project skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced team. Remote work arrangements may be considered for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, supply chain, or business administration.
• 5+ years of experience in high voltage EPC purchasing.
• In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement.
• Knowledge of contract management.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, professional, team environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to meet project schedules and deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with MS Excel and MS Project.
• Experience with Vista Viewpoint and Autodesk Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand and support pursuit and project schedule requirements.
• Prepare bidders list with input from PM and Procurement.
• Solicit pre-qualification information and present final recommendations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize procurement of materials.
• Prepare RFPs and coordinate additions.
• Receive proposals and perform commercial evaluations.
• Include prime contract requirements in contracts.
• Review and negotiate deviations from policies and terms.
• Maintain positive vendor and subcontractor relationships.
• Evaluate MBE/WBE requirements with project team.
• Expedite equipment and materials to meet project schedule.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Maintain attendance per policy; essential to the role.

Primoris Power Solutions is looking to add a Sr High Voltage EPC Buyer to its growing team!

The Sr High Voltage EPC Buyer will serve as the lead technical representative for the Procurement organization for high voltage (HV) equipment utilized in substations and power transmission lines. This position will work with the Procurement and Project Managers to maintain policies and procedures related to purchasing and expediting. In addition, this position will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers and meeting requirements to support projects schedules.

Job Function and Responsibilities

• Understands and supports pursuit and project schedule requirements
• Prepares the bidders list with input from the Project Manager and Procurement
• Manager solicits pre‑qualification information from suggested bidders, and analyzes/presents final recommendations
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize the procurement of materials
• Prepares requests for proposals and coordinates the issuance of any additions
• Receives proposals and prepares commercial evaluations
• Inclusion of necessary prime contract requirements in all contracts
• Reviews, negotiates, and obtains final approval of any deviations from procurement policies and procedures and/or project‑specific terms and conditions
• Maintains positive long‑term relationships with vendors and subcontractors
• Evaluates and determines MBE/WBE requirements for each proposal and ensures good faith effort is made as appropriately (in collaboration with the Project Manager, Estimating Manager, and Pre‑Construction Manager)
• Expedites equipment and materials to ensure on‑time delivery per the project schedule
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
• Performs special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requested
• Regular attendance, in accordance with company’s attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position

Required Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, supply chain, business administration
• 5+ years of experience in high voltage EPC purchasing
• In‑depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement, as well as construction principles and processes
• Knowledge of contract management
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced, professional, team environment with minimal supervision
• Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately and in support of project schedules and other deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with MS Excel, MS Project required
• Experience with Vista Viewpoint is preferred
• Experience with Autodesk Suite is preferred
