Job summary

Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. is seeking a Contracting Agent I to optimize contracting services for plant expansion and maintenance. The role focuses on soliciting competitive bids, reducing costs, and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes through robust procurement practices.

Responsibilities include pre/post-award functions, evaluating bids, and ensuring contract documentation accuracy while coordinating with multiple internal teams to meet project timelines.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years industry business experience
• Bachelor's degree required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
• Must be detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of AS400 is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform the contracting services for plant expansion and/or maintenance work at the right time, with the right quality, in the right quantity, and at the right price
• Follow the procurement procedures to conduct contracting services related to pre-award and post-award functions
• Evaluate contractors' bid documents and analyze prices, past performance, commitments and financial responsibility to recommend the best proposal
• Verify correctness of Contract/PO documentation and issue Notice of Award and Contract
• Monitor market conditions to evaluate bid responsiveness and contractor performance
• Coordinate with Engineering Center Staff, Maintenance and Operation Groups, Accounting, Local Contracting and other contacts
