Job summary

The Panther Group is seeking a Procurement Buyer for a client in Sterling Heights, MI. This onsite role manages purchasing activities and supplier/subcontractor relationships for various PO and subcontract types, including fixed-price and cost-reimbursement agreements.

This is a 10–15 month contract assignment, after which performance and business needs will be evaluated to determine eligibility to apply for a full-time procurement position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Experience with Oracle or similar procurement systems.
• Experience with cost and price analysis.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Understanding of procurement processes, MRP, and supply chain operations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and program management skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities and supplier/subcontractor relationships.
• Analyze material requirements and purchasing needs using Oracle and MRP systems.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs.
• Perform cost and price analysis of supplier proposals and quotes.
• Conduct proposal fact-finding and negotiate pricing and terms to meet program and cost objectives.
• Prepare, place, administer, and monitor purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Monitor supplier performance, costs, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal functional teams/program offices.
• Coordinate source selection activities.
• Address supplier issues involving quality, design, payments, and delivery.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company requirements.
• Review planning and vendor lead times to ensure purchase orders are placed in a timely manner.
• Participate in supplier communications and occasional onsite program reviews.
• Provide timely status updates and support multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are hiring a Procurement Buyer for our client located in the Sterling Heights, MI area. The person hired for this position will manage purchasing activities and supplier/subcontractor relationships for various types of purchase orders and subcontracts, including fixed-price and cost-reimbursement agreements. This is an onsite position in Sterling Heights, MI. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to this location. Please note: No C2C, subcontracting, or visa sponsorship of any kind is available for this position. • Occasional domestic travel required; international travel may be possible.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance if required.

Additional Information

• Up to 20% travel may be required.
• May require work outside regular business hours to address critical issues.

Pay

$48.67–$50.67 per hour, depending on experience #ZRPROF
