Job summary

Benchmark in Rochester, MN seeks a Materials/Procurement professional to manage orders, supplier negotiations, and MRP execution to keep production on track. You will analyze purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and ensure contract terms are met while driving cost improvements.

This full-time role requires a 4-year degree (or equivalent) and strong MRP knowledge, with emphasis on accuracy, communication, and continuous improvement. Potential exposure to global supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes customer purchase orders for compliance to terms.
• Analyzes and executes MRP on a weekly basis.
• Monitors materials pipeline to meet MRP requirements and addresses issues.
• Attains inventory goals for assigned customers or commodities.
• Ensures materials availability to support production through MRP execution and on-time delivery.
• Negotiates terms with suppliers to reduce costs including freight and payment terms.
• Executes corporate contracts and ensures supplier adherence to terms.
• Maintains data integrity to minimize liability and optimize working capital.
• Improves supplier delivery and quality performance.
• Addresses recurring issues with corrective actions and procurement coordination.
• Analyzes quotations and checks price reasonableness.
• Assesses impact of forecast and production changes on procurement.
• Develops and maintains supply chain solutions to drive efficiency and cost reductions (Kanban, safety stock, VMI, EDI).
