Job summary

Super Steel, LLC in Mequon, WI is hiring an Associate Buyer to ensure the production floor is supplied with the right materials at the right time and price. This hands-on role focuses on daily PO execution, supplier follow-up, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in purchasing, materials, or inventory within manufacturing and a working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems. Safety gear and a collaborative team culture are common on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, basic formulas) and Outlook.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Place, track and expedite purchase orders based on MRP signals and production schedules.
• Follow up daily on open orders; expedite late items and communicate changes to production, scheduling and receiving.
• Resolve receiving discrepancies, pricing errors and invoice mismatches with suppliers, receiving and accounts payable.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder points; flag shortages and excess stock to Purchasing Manager.
• Request quotes from approved suppliers for routine buys and summarize them for review.
• Coordinate returns, rejected material and corrective actions with suppliers and Quality.
• Maintain supplier, item and pricing records in the ERP system.
• Arrange freight for inbound and outbound shipments as needed.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventory and other purchasing tasks.
