Job summary

Tennessee Crown Distributing Co. is seeking a procurement professional responsible for all aspects of inbound and outbound freight cost analysis, budgeting, and control. The role also covers inventory planning to support our distribution centers from Memphis-based operations.

Qualified candidates will have procurement/purchasing experience and strong analytical and communication skills, with a background in inventory management and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inbound and outbound freight costs for budgeting and control.
• Analyze and order inventory to supply distribution centers.
• Update forecasts based on programs and product placements.
• Analyze lead times for domestic and imported products and adjust.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to maximize turns and reduce overstock.
• Enter/approve purchase orders for inventory procurement.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure PO receipt and accuracy.
• Ensure PO schedules are kept and communicate arrivals to teams.
• Set up and maintain new items and update supplier costs.

This position will be responsible for all aspects of inbound & outbound freight cost analysis, budgeting and control. Along with being responsible for analyzing and ordering inventory to supply our distribution centers.

• Prior Procurement/Purchasing experience required.
• Analyze and evaluate suggested order needs from our Supply Chain Planning software and confirm accuracy of order recommendations.
• Update forecasts based on new Programs and/or Product Placements.
• Analyze lead times for both Domestic and Imported products and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain levels of inventory that maximize turns and limits overstock.
• Enter/Approve Purchase Orders for the procurement of inventory.
• Communicate with supplier ordering departments to ensure receipt and accuracy of PO's
• Work with our suppliers to ensure PO's are running on schedule
• Responsible for building orders based on supplier or carrier requirements.
• Communicate with Trade Marketing and all sales teams on arrivals of PO's
• Responsible for New Item setup and maintenance.
• Responsible for maintaining supplier product costs in our host system and informing Trade Marketing of product increases.
• Prior Procurement/Purchasing experience required.
• High school diploma required.
• College Degree preferred.
• Procurement/Purchasing experience required.
• Above average analytical and communication skills required.
• Must have intermediate computer skills to include, but not limited to Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Exel, Outlook, etc).
• 10-Key Data Entry experience preferred.
• Know
• Familiar with Inventory Management and Warehousing terms.
• Import/Export experience preferred.
• Knowledge of LTL/Long Haul/Rail transportation preferred.Must have ability to communicate effectively both written and oral.
• Must be able to react quickly to rapidly changing stock levels and sales trends.
• Must be able to pass background checks (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…)
