Hive Group is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Senior Technical Writer & Content Editor to support complex federal program documentation and strategic communications. In this role, you will be responsible for editing and refining complex federal procurement packages, standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical reports, and executive deliverables.

The ideal candidate possesses familiarity with federal procurement frameworks, demonstrates expert knowledge across both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, and brings hands-on experience integrating generative AI-driven research, writing, and editing tools to accelerate review cycles and elevate document quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute high-quality, comprehensive reviews of federal procurement and program documentation, ensuring 100% on-time delivery, compliance with established SOPs, and adherence to style guides and templates.
  • Reorganize and refine complex technical content to ensure clarity, eliminate ambiguity, and optimize messaging for executive and stakeholder audiences.
  • Critically analyze technical requirements and procurement artifacts, identifying potential risks or inconsistencies and proactively proposing solutions before final delivery.
  • Edit content for consistency, style, tone, terminology, grammar, punctuation, and structural flow across multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Conduct peer reviews and collaborate with multi-disciplinary technical teams to elevate overall document quality and readability.
  • Collect and document qualitative and quantitative quality metrics to support trend analysis and continuous process improvement.
  • Leverage productivity tools (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), specialized editing software (e.g., PerfectIt), and enterprise AI assistants to streamline formatting workflows and maximize editing efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a Technical Writer, Editor, or Communications Specialist, ideally within a federal government or government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with federal acquisition concepts, procurement documentation structures, or regulatory frameworks (e.g., FAR/DFARS concepts).
  • High proficiency across both Microsoft Office / 365 and Google Workspace platforms.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing modern generative AI writing, research, and editing tools to streamline document assembly and review processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage competing deadlines independently.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable federal background check.
