Job summary

CACI is seeking an Intermediate Buyer to support the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. A BA/BS with 3+ years of procurement experience (or 6+ years in lieu) and an active Secret clearance are required.

You will collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs, review requisitions, obtain quotes, and manage supplier performance while maintaining procurement records. Travel up to 25% locally is expected.

Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance with eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI.
  • BA/BS with 3+ years of procurement experience or 6+ years of related work.
  • Deep knowledge of FAR/DFARS and federal procurement rules.
  • Analytical mindset to evaluate supplier performance, costs, and risks.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder relationship skills.

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a highly motived Intermediate Buyer who will perform procurement support to the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with internal teams to anticipate and fulfill procurement needs.
  • Reviews requisitions, prepares bid requests, and expedites delivery of goods to users
  • Prepares procurement reports for management briefing.
  • Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery.
  • Streamline and optimize procurement processes by implementing best practices and continuous improvement strategies, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
  • Act as a primary problem-solver for complex procurement issues, setting an example of effective decision-making and proactive solutions.
  • Receives and reviews purchase requests, gathers and evaluates quotes, and seeks necessary approvals.
  • Drives a culture of accountability, integrity, and innovation within the procurement team.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Secret Clearance with eligibility to upgrade to a TS/SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with at least 3 years of experience, or 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Deep understanding of federal procurement regulations and requirements, including FAR/DFARS, and the ability to ensure compliance while training others.
  • Analytical mindset to evaluate supplier performance, costs, and risks, using data to inform strategic decisions and mentor team members in developing these skills.
  • Expert negotiation and relationship management skills to maintain strong supplier and stakeholder partnerships.
  • Ability to make independent, strategic decisions and effectively manage high-pressure situations while guiding and mentoring the team.
  • Demonstrated forward-thinking approach to anticipate and mitigate procurement delays, modeling proactive behavior for the team.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and provide clear, concise updates to all involved parties

Desired:

  • Experience with submitting IT hardware and software through Army & DoD approval processes, to include the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) / G-6 portal.
  • Experience purchasing IT items via the Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) process.
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) receiving procedures and forms, to include DD 1149’s, DA 3161’s, and DA 2062’s.
  • CACI Procure to Pay (P2P) purchasing tool experience.

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.
