Job summary

Jobtailor in Massachusetts seeks a senior procurement leader to direct a team responsible for procurement, planning and supplier quality across SPARC, ARC, and R&D projects. You will own executive supplier relationships and drive transformational sourcing strategies within a technical environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance or other related fields.
  • 10+ years’ related work experience in supply chain in highly technical environment.
  • 10+ years’ successful experience managing and developing a team.
  • Experience sourcing and overseeing complex projects across multiple commodities.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • Ability to communicate with all functions, at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to structure and negotiate complex contracts.
  • Ability to develop sourcing strategies for projects or commodities.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
  • Customer service mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a direct procurement, planning and supplier quality team.
  • Oversee scope including raw materials, machine parts, process or electrical systems, and construction for SPARC, ARC, and R&D projects.
  • Lead overall execution and organizational strategy for the team.
  • Hire, train, support, develop, and coach team members.
  • Define, assign, and monitor objectives.
  • Manage cost, quality, and delivery objectives for assigned projects.
  • Plan and assign work, manage workload, and define priorities with engineering and construction leaders.
  • Act as an escalation point to solve issues.
  • Own executive-level relationships with major suppliers.
  • Ensure process adherence and improvements for strategic sourcing and supplier quality.
  • Report project status, risks, and issues to supply chain and project leadership teams.
  • Lead business transformation initiatives.
  • Develop the management team and directly reporting professionals.
  • Ensure leadership-level alignment with internal customers and interfacing functions.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, finance or other related fields

  • 10+ years’ related work experience in supply chain in highly technical environment

  • Previous experience sourcing and overseeing complex projects, including equipment, parts and services spanning across multiple commodities

  • Experience in a startup environment

  • Ability to communicate with all functions, at all levels, internally and externally

  • Ability to structure and negotiate complex contracts

  • Ability to develop sourcing strategies for projects or commodities

  • Organizational and project management skills

  • Customer service mindset and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Exceptional creative problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time

  • Willingness to travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call occasionally for travel to construction sites and supplier

  • Ability to work in a facility containing industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics

  • Compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws
