Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC in Hanover, MD seeks a Processing Operator for the night shift (7:00pm-7:00am) to run stretch blow-molding machines and inspect/pack containers. You will perform routine machine checks, operate a forklift, and support GMP and SQF compliance on a rotating 15 days/month schedule.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, strong attendance, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime and teamwork are essential to meet production goals.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Start and stop stretch blow-molding machines to produce quality containers.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and tightening of machine assemblies.
  • Inspect containers using test equipment and visual methods.
  • Pack containers into boxes at designated speeds and stack cartons to form 4 ft high units.
  • Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.
  • Maintain GMP and SQF compliance and support a clean, safe work environment.
  • Fill in as Packaging Technician when needed to complete orders.

Overview

PROCESSING OPERATORS - Night Shift (7:00pm-7:00am)

Work 15 days a month with a rotating schedule. Bi-weekly schedule: work Monday & Tuesday, off Wednesday & Thursday, work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, off Monday & Tuesday, work Wednesday & Thursday, off Friday Saturday & Sunday; then the schedule starts over.

Operate stretch blow molding machines and lift equipment, inspect and pack rigid-plastic PET containers, and perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Start and stop stretch blow-molding machines to produce quality, rigid-plastic containers.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and/or tightening of machine assemblies.
  • Perform container inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods, and visual inspection techniques.
  • Pack containers into boxes/cartons at designated production-line speeds according to specifications and stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units.
  • Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.
  • Contribute as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment.
  • Operate stretch blow molding machines, pull seepage, apply SPC methodologies for initiating machine adjustments, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out-of-spec production (held ware).
  • Willing to fill in as Packaging Technician when needed to complete orders.
  • Maintain and adhere to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Compliance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of product identification and basic math skills.
  • Fork-lift experience.
  • Ability to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically).
  • Ability to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
  • Ability to complete routine paperwork accurately.
  • Experience working with automated equipment.
  • Ability to operate a scanner.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Compensation: $21.00/hr-$23.00/hr
