Job summary

Amcor in Maryland is seeking Processing Operators for the night shift (7:00pm-7:00am). Work 15 days a month on a rotating schedule and operate stretch blow molding machines, inspect containers, and perform routine machine maintenance.

You will pack containers, move materials with a forklift, adhere to GMP and SQF, and assist in changeovers. Requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and good attendance.

  • Must have knowledge of product identification and basic math.
  • Fork-lift experience.
  • Must be able to perform all duties safely and effectively.
  • Capable of physical mobility (walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50 pounds).
  • Able to work in a production environment with alarms and sounds.
  • Must complete routine paperwork accurately.
  • Ability to operate automated equipment and a scanner.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Start and stop stretch blow-molding machines to produce quality containers.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and tightening of machine assemblies.
  • Inspect containers using test equipment, SPC, and visual methods.
  • Pack containers into boxes at production speeds and stack into 4 ft high units.
  • Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment per GMP and SQF requirements.
  • Assist in machine changeovers and identify start/stop of out-of-spec production.
  • Fill in as Packaging Technician when needed to complete orders.

PROCESSING OPERATORS – Night Shift (7:00pm-7:00am)

Work just 15 days a Month with a Rotating Schedule!!!

(Bi-weekly Schedule: work Monday & Tuesday, off Wednesday & Thursday, work Friday, Saturday & Sunday, off Monday & Tuesday, work Wednesday & Thursday, off Friday Saturday & Sunday then the schedule starts over)

Operate stretch blow molding machines and lift equipment, inspect and pack rigid-plastic PET containers, and perform scheduled charting and inspections on machines and associated equipment.

  • Start and stop stretch blow-molding machines to produce quality, rigid-plastic containers.
  • Perform routine inspections, cleaning & lubricating and/or tightening of machine assembles.
  • Perform container inspections using test equipment, statistical quality methods & visual inspection techniques.
  • Pack containers into boxes/cartons at designated production-line speeds according to specifications & stack packed cartons to build 4 ft. high units.
  • Safely operate lift trucks to move materials.
  • Perform as a responsible team member to maintain a clean, safe, and effective work environment.
  • Operate stretch blow molding machines, pull seepage, apply SPC methodologies for initiating machine adjustments, change materials, assist in changeovers and identify start and stop of out-of-spec production (held ware).
  • Willing to fill in as Packaging Technician when needed to complete orders.
  • Responsible for maintaining and adhering to established Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP) and Safety Quality Foods (SQF) compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for adhering to Food Safety Compliance.
