Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates is seeking a Processing Operator to support extrusion, batching, coating, and receiving and to learn all operational aspects of equipment across areas. This role requires adaptability to move between tasks and contribute to continuous plant operations.

You will train new processing operators, uphold site GMPs, and participate in safety programs while maintaining certifications and collaborating with maintenance and engineering on improvements.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years of age or older.
• Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Must be willing and able to work rotating schedules.
• Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language.
• High level of mechanical aptitude and knowledge, with good skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Most recent performance appraisal with a minimum of “Meets” expectations and not more than 1 year old.
• No active disciplinary notices.
• Acceptable attendance (less than 5 incidents and no discipline above an Initial Warning).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a current certification for batching, extrusion, coating, and receiving while assisting all areas in maintaining high levels of cleanliness and site GMPs.
• Prioritize work daily by identifying pressing issues and understanding shift production plans.
• Promote a high-quality team environment through teamwork and self-management.
• Perform and review all processing documentation accurately.
• Lead problem-solving to improve operations on the floor and in meetings.
• Coordinate area activities to minimize waste and ensure continuous plant operations.
• Train new processing operators to meet current certification and training requirements.
• Recognize trends and take corrective actions to improve situations.
