Job summary

Mars is seeking an Extruder Operator in Illinois to join the factory team. This entry-level role develops capability in extrusion/processing, with responsibilities spanning batching, extrusion, coating, and quality checks. The position requires adherence to GMPs, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You'll work a 2-2-3 12-hour schedule, with pay of $25–$30 plus shift premium. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, teamwork, and performance in a fast-paced packaging hall.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong math, reading and writing skills are required.
• Good mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting ability is essential.
• Proven problem solving and teamwork capabilities are expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion/processing lines and perform quality checks.
• Coordinate with packaging and extrusion to optimize product flow.
• Maintain GMPs, safety, and housekeeping in the area.
• Troubleshoot processing systems and minimize downtime.
• Lead small teams on floor and in meetings to improve operations.
