Job summary

Post Consumer Brands, a unit of Post Holdings, Inc., is seeking a Production Operator at the Asheboro, NC plant. You will operate and monitor production equipment, manage shipping, receiving, and staging, and help maintain a clean, safe, and highly automated facility.

Responsibilities include performing repairs, routine maintenance, data recording, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and overtime is possible in a 2-2-3 rotating schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production equipment, shipping, receiving, finished product storage or staging materials and supply replenishment.
  • Identify and correct routine and repetitive upset conditions.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
  • Maintain clean work areas, perform sanitation audits and develop action plans to correct problem areas.
  • Record production data required for measuring waste, downtime or production efficiency, or other pertinent data as required.
  • Coordinate shift activities related to production.
  • Participate in all training activities of the Team.
  • Work with various support staff effectively and communicate pertinent information to other Team Members and shifts.

Location Description

The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC, features some of the most modern cereal production technology in the industry and the facility has quadrupled in size since it opened in 2007. Asheboro's 200+ team members produce some of our newest and most innovative cereals, like Oreo Puff's cereal! While there is plenty to do right in Asheboro, the town is only a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean in one direction and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the other direction.

Shift: 5:30pm - 5:50am 2-2-3 rotating schedule

Operates and monitors production equipment, shipping, receiving, finished product storage or staging materials and supply replenishment. Identifying and correcting routine and repetitive upset conditions. Requires good decision making and mechanical skills while performing daily tasks and working safely.

  • Perform all production equipment operations and production related tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Change over all related equipment.
  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on all related equipment.
  • Maintain clean work areas, perform sanitation audits and develop action plans to correct problem areas.
  • Perform expanded list of quality checks on raw ingredients, intermediate and finished products, and packaging materials.
  • Record production data required for measuring waste, downtime or production efficiency, or other pertinent data as required.
  • Provide assistance in all related areas and participate in all activities of the Team.
  • Understand production reports and plan ahead to maximize efficiency of Team and equipment.
  • Assist in other areas of the plant upon request.
  • Participate in special projects/assignments/committees.
  • Work with various support staff effectively, and communicate pertinent information to other Team Members and shifts.
  • Coordinate shift activities related to production.
  • Participate in all training activities of the Team as required.
  • Perform a variety of audits as required.
Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required

Experience:

Manufacturing or related experience is preferred

Skills:

  • Intermediate level mechanical knowledge to include the ability to understand the operation of department equipment
  • Intermediate level math skills for calculations and conversions
  • Ability to work within a team environment and communicate effectively and efficiently within the team
  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs consistently
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stand for 12 hours
