Job summary

Daybreak Foods, Inc. in Ohio seeks a Processing Lead responsible for the breaking room functions, including breaker operation, liquid product filtration and sanitation. You will supervise line workers, maintain USDA/FSIS paperwork, and coordinate egg flows with the Transfer Room team.

This role requires the ability to lead, train, and mentor staff, follow GMPs, and adjust operations to meet customer specifications. Prior food plant experience and bilingual English/Spanish abilities are desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous food plant experience is highly desirable.
• Training for egg specific equipment would be provided in house.
• Prior experience in a lead or supervisory position preferred.
• Ability to speak English and Spanish highly desirable.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to load trucks for most effective dispatch of product to customer’s scheduled deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Know all functions in the transfer room, orientor, washer and candler operation.
• Shell egg product flows and mid-shift sanitation procedures; transfer room processing documentation.
• Perform tanker CIP’s, pipeline set-up, liquid product pumping, pipeline CIP’s and silo CIP’s.
• Follow written procedures and maintain plant documentation and USDA/FSIS paperwork.
• Work cooperatively with department leads and USDA/FSIS inspector.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Follow GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs in the plant and departments.
• Communicate with Transfer Room stakeholders to control egg flow.
• Monitor Breaking Room operations and adjust to meet customer specs.
• Work with Management to adjust schedules.
• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble processing equipment daily.
• Post sanitation inspections of all equipment.
• Monitor crew performance and coach; report to Processing Manager.
• Delegate duties to line workers.
• Other duties as assigned.
