Job summary

Collectors Universe, Inc. is seeking a team-oriented operations specialist to drive daily eBay workflows, align with collectors’ needs, and maintain high accuracy. You will monitor performance metrics, coach staff, and collaborate with partners to ensure smooth submissions and ship schedules.

The role requires strong communication, integrity, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and career growth for the team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in collectibles handling or shipping is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee daily eBay operations, ensuring we work backwards from collector needs and maintain high standards.
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics, providing accurate data for decisions.
  • Listen to team members, resolve conflicts with empathy, and escalate when needed.
  • Set clear team goals with supervisors and eBay leadership, starting with why to align on objectives.
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments, reinforcing excellence.
  • Identify training needs and coach teammates for continuous learning and long-term careers.
  • Share challenges transparently to address issues early and effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners for seamless operations aligned with our mission.
  • Facilitate huddles, manage inventory/cycle counts, and reassign duties as needed.

What You'll Do:
  • Support and oversee daily eBay operations, ensuring we work backwards from collector needs and maintain the highest standards—because getting it right is non-negotiable
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics (exceptions tracking, inbound/outbound mail, accuracy), providing accurate data for informed decisions
  • Seek feedback early and often—listen to team members, resolve conflicts with empathy, elevate when necessary, and always assume positive intent
  • Set clear team goals with supervisors and eBay leadership, starting with why to ensure everyone understands the goal and problem we're solving

Who You Are:
  • 4-6 years of experience in a hands-on role in collectibles grading or authentication, fragile item handling, mail processing or shipping, or as an art or antiques handler or technician or similar position

  • High school diploma or equivalent education background preferred, or equivalent work experience
Physical Demands:

Bending and Twisting: Bending neck/waist, twisting neck/waist, and squatting.

Computer Use: Typing, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer potentially for long periods of time.

Hand Use: Regular hand use for various tasks.

Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, signals, and verbal instructions.

Receiving and Inspecting Submissions: Ability to receive, and in some departments inspect, submissions. Ability to use a sharp blade and retrieve submissions from packaging.

Sitting or Standing: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.

Hourly Range:

The hourly range for this position is $23 - $26. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
