Job summary

Emerson in the Power and Water Solutions team is seeking a Process Tuner Field Engineer. The role is based in Houston, TX, with remote flexibility for candidates who have Ovation DCS experience and are willing to travel up to 80% across North America.

You will tune boiler and BOP processes, support retrofit projects, generate tuning reports, supervise field engineers, and engage with customers to define service and system needs while ensuring project performance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of field engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of power plant operation and controls.
• Experience tuning Boiler, Turbine, conventional and CC plants; Ovation DCS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced process tuning for Boiler or BOP processes.
• Coordinate with plant operations teams on-site to optimize steam and electricity production.
• Develop and implement startup and tuning activities for major retrofit projects.
• Generate and store tuning reports for site tuning activities.
• Lead field engineering teams and supervise subcontractors on large projects.
• Review customer needs for service, maintenance contracts, and system adds.
• Support engineering teams with project management during installations.
