We're looking for a Process Technology Engineer to serve as a key technical leader within our Vespel Business at the Pencader site in Newark, DE. The site produces high performance Vespel parts in a discrete part manufacturing environment.In this role, you'll leverage your engineering expertise to improve plant performance, troubleshoot complex process issues, increase asset utilization, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact business results.What You'll DoAs a Process Technology Engineer, you'll be a trusted technical resource and problem solver, helping our operation achieve excellence in safety, reliability, quality, and cost performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with plant operations to optimize manufacturing performance and achieve production, quality, environmental, reliability, and cost objectives.Apply advanced process technology and engineering expertise to identify opportunities for operational improvement.Lead troubleshooting efforts, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate losses and improve plant performance.Drive optimization of raw material efficiency, yield improvement, and waste reduction, serving as the site focal point for these critical metrics.Analyze asset utilization losses and document findings using global performance improvement tools.Coach and mentor operations personnel on process technology, best practices, and effective problem-solving techniques.Collaborate with Process Control, Reliability, R&D, Technical Centers, and site engineering team to implement best-in-class manufacturing practices.Lead or participate in cross-functional teams focused on plant optimization, operational excellence, and strategic improvement projects.Support implementation of methodologies such as:Lean ManufacturingSix SigmaStatistical Process Control (SPC)Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence toolsEnsure compliance with plant operating discipline and management systems.Communicate technical insights and recommendations to operators, leadership teams, and technology experts.What We're Looking ForWe're seeking an engineer who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing technical problem-solving with team collaboration.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.5+ years of manufacturing or related experience required.Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or process operations.Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.Knowledge of process technology, process control systems, process safety management, and operational improvement methodologies.Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, or continuous improvement programs.Ability to influence teams, coach others, and lead through technical expertise.Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple functions.Why Join Us?This is an opportunity to play a highly visible role in driving manufacturing performance and operational excellence.
