Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Jamestown, ND is seeking a Process Technician II to perform chemical processing of aircraft parts, including cleaning, etching, chromate conversion coating, and anodizing, plus related laboratory tasks.

The onsite position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and may prefer process technician experience. You will follow work instructions, interpret drawings, ensure safety, document processes, and work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Process technician experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for chemical processing of detailed parts and final assemblies to current spec requirements.
• Be well informed about disposal of hazardous waste.
• Be aware of the chemicals you work with throughout the day.
• Be knowledgeable of customer/company specifications and international standards.
• Capable of processing acceptable parts and passing required evaluations for processes.
• Proper documentation of the process of parts to meet customer requirements.
• Demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Work with minimal direction from area supervisor/team coordinator.
• Proficient in handling equipment applicable to the job.
• Cooperate and communicate with co-workers and other departments.
• Interpret and understand part drawings and illustrated planning.
• Follow work instructions to ensure proper processing of parts.
• Wear and use PPE related to the job.

Job Summary

A Process Technician II performs a variety of functions directly related to the chemical processing of aircraft parts and components, including aqueous cleaning, chemical etching, chromate conversion coating, anodizing, passivation, abrasive blasting, heat treatment of aluminum, and laboratory analysis. Responsibilities include full laboratory duties and/or PAA Operator Certification.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the chemical processing of detailed parts and final assemblies to current spec requirements.
• Be well informed about the disposal of hazardous waste.
• Be aware and informed of the chemicals you work with throughout the day.
• Be knowledgeable of all pertinent customer/company specifications and international standards.
• Capable of processing acceptable parts and passing all required evaluations for some of the required processes.
• Proper documentation of the process of parts to meet customer requirements.
• Demonstrate a continued interest in good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Demonstrate ability to work under a minimal amount of direction for the area supervisor/team coordinator.
• Be proficient in handling all of the equipment that is applicable to completing the required job.
• Demonstrate an ability to effectively cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments.
• Capable of interpreting and understanding part drawings and illustrated planning.
• Follow work instructions to ensure the proper processing of parts.
• Properly wear and use personal protective equipment relating to the job performed.

Qualifications

Must have:

• High school diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
