Job summary

Silgan Penn Yan is seeking a Process Technician to support daily Set-up Process activities in our Penn Yan, NY manufacturing facility. The role requires assisting with blow molding production, identifying and resolving processing issues, and collaborating with process engineers to improve process capability.

The position is full-time, hourly, with two shift options and a $21.10 per hour starting wage plus a $1.00 night differential. A stay-on bonus and referral bonus are offered where eligible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; manufacturing experience a plus.
• Must follow safety, quality and GMP policies.
• Ability to read drawings and understand part features.
• Ability to troubleshoot and support production operations.

Responsibilities

• Follow Silgan Safety, Quality and GMP policies and support set-up processes.
• Assist in processing issues in blow molding of plastic containers.
• Communicate with plant technicians to resolve issues quickly.
• Assist process engineers with evaluating new products and design improvements.
• Read drawings and understand critical features for function.
• Recommend product or process changes to meet manufacturing needs.
• Troubleshoot blow molding equipment and support downtime reductions.
• Troubleshoot bottle and jar defects; perform preventive maintenance on tooling.
• Conduct quality inspections and operate production equipment.
• Perform changeovers and set ups; work with process engineers on new processes.
