Job summary

Staffmark Group in El Segundo, CA is hiring a Process Technician to support manufacturing of quality products. You will set up and operate equipment, maintain cleanliness, and ensure GMP compliance while supporting pilot trials and production runs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical assembly, machinery operation, and material preparation
  • Strong problem-solving and equipment troubleshooting skills needed
  • Basic mathematical skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain ingredient inventory in the warehouse and batching areas, ordering raw materials as needed.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities for incoming ingredients and outgoing finished products.
  • Set up, operate, disassemble, clean, and sanitize production equipment, tools, and measuring devices safely and efficiently.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, and batch test ingredients while documenting lot codes for traceability.
  • Keep pilot and laboratory workspaces clean, organized, and stocked with materials stored in designated locations.
  • Perform equipment and meter calibrations as required.
  • Assist with pilot trials and saleable production runs by operating equipment, collecting samples, recording data, batching materials, packaging products, and palletizing finished goods.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams to improve processes and production efficiency.
  • Provide backup support for basic quality assurance tasks, including pre-operational checks and recording product weights and temperatures.
  • Manage and maintain freezer inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Follow all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) while supporting a safety-focused work environment.
  • Complete all work with precision, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Duties

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or production training is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
  • 1-2 years of proven work experience in a lab or manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, warehouse, or industrial experience is preferred.
  • Experience operating production equipment, performing quality inspections, or meeting production goals is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement practices, or workplace safety procedures is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate reliability, adaptability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are well positioned for success as a Process Technician.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift materials, components, or finished products weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to safely operate around production equipment and moving machinery.
  • Ability to maintain productivity while working in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
  • Flexibility to work any/all shifts to support a high-growth work environment
  • Able to work in an environment for extended periods of time while maintaining food safety protocols.
  • Operating in cold room environments is frequent.
